To Edge or Not to Edge

That is the question.
Well, another row of letters in the baby blanket is almost complete. After this is done there will be only ABC left to knit, and maybe a border, but maybe not. The blanket is for a boy, the border is a bit lacy, so I am unsure if I should bother with it.

This is what the edges look like now:

This is the edging the pattern calls for:
So, dear readers, what do you think, should I do the edge or should I leave it off?

I say: Do the edging, but leave off the zig-zag edge, just do the openwork, since the openwork does really tie it all together. A straight edge will be more MANLY. Heh.

Ooh! Or you could do a crochet edge.

I agree with Christine. Do the openwork part but leave off the zig-zag portion.

I like the pointy triangle edge. I would probably leave out the eyelet zig-zag openwork stuff, and knit a bit of plain in there instead, do the row of straight eyelets, then do the pointy triangle edge. That is just me though, it will look great no matter what you decide to do!

I was going to say forget the edge, but I have to agree with the other "viewers" on the modified edge - what a good idea!

HOW have you knit that much that fast?? HOW??

I've only knit maybe a square since I saw you last.

I love the open work, not the zig zag edging. Hope that makes sense! : )
